Last Days of School

Frances and Erin both are in their last week of school. They both get out about noon on Friday the 16th. Erin had a reasonably good year after a troubled start with the district, and Frances had a fantastic freshman year. We won't know her final grades another few days. She received the STAR Greenhand award in FFA this is year. That means she the was top performing freshman student in FFA this year. Pretty awesome as she had set her sights set on this award from the beginning of the school year and worked diligently to earn this distinction.

Summer school starts in two weeks. Not sure if we are going forward with Erin's summer school, but Frances has two FFA classes she's taking to prepare for the county fair competitions. One is in showing and the other is in judging. These are mandatory classes in order to show and compete her animal in the fair at the end of July. Not great for us as a family, because we will have to put off any vacation plans until after the fair. Then there is only a couple of weeks before school starts, so if we do anything I guess it will have to be over a long weekend or something and then only someplace relatively local which is ok.

Cris got our jacuzzi hot tub up and running again. I think he ended up flushing the system about 4 times so we went through several hundred gallons of water to get it back into shape. Nathan and Erin played in it a little bit on Sunday evening, but it was chilly outside, and we had not turned on the heating element, so the water was a little too cold for them. They were having so much fun, but their teeth were chattering in the water. It was kind of funny because when I asked if the water was too cold and if they wanted to get out, they both shouted a resounding "NO!!"
