Teen Driver

Frances passed the DMV written exam on Friday and received her drivers permit. She is thrilled. She only missed one question.

Erin's musical production is fast approaching! She's doing a great job every day in practice and has learned all her songs and the routines for her group. She mostly stands but they do alot with their hands too.

Today her class was having a Halloween party, so she dressed up a "Pink Lady" from the the movie Grease. She's so cute!! I'll post a picture later.

Jessica has settled in with our family. I think it's taken her some time getting used to us and all our noise levels and mini dramas, but she's a good sport and seems to like us too. Nathan and Gillian really like her which is great! Nathan has bonded the most I think and will sit her lap or close to her in the evening when she's with the family watching TV. He asks where she is when she's out. So, so far so good.

Nathan celebrated his 3rd birthday on Sunday. He's been wanting to have a birthday party at the "Jungle", so I planned for a small party there on Sunday morning. He had so much fun playing with his cousins (my sister's little boys) and Hannah. Cris and I bought him an activity table with a wooden train set and construction set. It was one of the ones at Costco. Turns out to be a very nice set. Nathan and Gillian have been enjoying playing with it over the last couple of days.

We carved pumpkins on Sunday afternoon and I roasted the pumpkins seeds later in the evening. Nathan and Gillian's pumpkins are the Mr. Potato Head type. Nathan's is a pirate and Gillian's was a princess. They are so cute. Instead of carving these pumpkins, they just poked the arms and legs and ears and hats, and mouth, and noses on their pumpkins. They turned out very cute.

Frances and Erin and Jessica carved their pumpkins. Frances and Jessica used the traditional method of carving including the pattern and the carving knives. Erin and Cris carved Erin's pumpkin with lite-bright technology. Erin's pumpkin has these little clear lite brite LEDs that she hammered into the pumpkin to make a face and then she put a little rotating light that has three colors on it into the pumpkin, so the pumpkin lights up in different colors. Very cool.

We bought candy to hand out tonight to the little gouls and gobblins who chose to grace our gate, but last year was kind of slow, so we are not really expecting a lot of kids this year either.
