They came, they ate, they went....

Well we had a house full of people over the Thanksgiving break. My mom and dad, brother and his friend, my younger sister and her family and Cris' parents all managed to fill the house on Thanksgiving Day. We ate, and ate, and ate... and still we had leftovers. But it was all good. Cris fried the turkey, and my brother baked the ham. The food was good and everyone seemed more than satisfied with the meal.

Since my brother has not been to California in over 15 years, we spent some time driving...something he absolutely despises; but for those trips that he chose to participate in, he seemed to have a good time.

They all went home on Monday, so, the house is now empty and really quiet, but its nice to have it back to just our family of 6 again.

My dad has this idea to come and stay with Cris and I for a month. He want to help us redo our back yard. He said he would bring all the equipment if we would provide room and board. I'm excited thinking that my parents will be with me for an extended period, and we get a bonus with my dad having a little project to keep him busy and interested.

Maybe sometime next year they will do this. I'm thinking it needs to be in the spring. The temperatures are milder and the ground should still be damp from the winter rain making the cultivation easier to manage. Don't know for sure, things are still up in the air.

Gillian has stranger danger right now. She's not into being held by ANYBODY but me and her dad. Anybody else is completely off limits at this time. She's happy to smile and laugh as long as she's in my or Cris' arms. If we put her down she crawls behind us fussing until we pick her up.

She's also able to stand on her own without support. She refuses to try and take steps. Standing for now if enough for her. When we try to hold her hands and stand her up, she gets "ELVIS in the PELVIS" all wobbly and hippy and bending the legs. Its too funny. She's pretty stubborn when she doesn't want to stand up. Nothing we do will make her put her feet on the floor. She just lifts her legs up and looks up at me with an expression that indicates she's not in the mood for this walking nonsense.

Way cool about your parents coming and Dad working on the yard...think you can hint to Dad N to do that for us?! LOL! Two years here and all we have is grass and the trees that were in the backyard when we got here.

Lillian is in the stranger danger thing, too...if you don't live in our house, forget about it! LOL There are a few people from church that she will *tolerate* for *brief* time periods *if* she is in the mood. She finally stood last night for the first time for more than a split second and she was busy playing with a cup so I don't think she has any idea she did it.
