Musical Auditions

Erin has decided that in addition to her ballet class this year that she wants to participate in the school musical too. Auditions were held yesterday for the dance portion of the musical, and today for the singing portion. Unfortunately, in order to be considered for the cast, she had to audition both days and dance and sing. She did ok yesterday. When she's learning something new, if she has some people to follow, she does ok. So yesterday's audition was fine. Today though, Cris took Erin for the vocal auditions and she had just finished up PE so she was really tired. He said he had to leave the room while the kids learned the song, so not sure how she did. They will post the cast on Sept 9, so hopefully Erin's name will be one among the background dancers and singers. Her first ballet class of the new school year is this Thursday, so it's been a pretty full week of practices and auditions for her.

Frances' FFA chapter meets on Thursday night too, so we are supposed to bring drinks for the potluck. Cris and I will split up, one of us will take Erin to dance and the other will go with Frances to the FFA chapter meeting. I'll take Nathan with me, and he'll take Gillian with him.

Frances says she likes all her classes this year so far. Erin has made some new friends too.

Nathan transitioned to his new pre-school 3 yr old classroom this week. It's been difficult leaving him these last couple of mornings as the environment is new and he's not yet comfortable with the routine in the classroom. His teacher did tell us though that once he was outside he played and enjoyed himself.

Gillian has had a cough for a week. I took her last Friday to the pediatrician for a check up and she had the beginnings of an ear infection and so has been on antibiotics since Friday night. She's still got the cough though, but at least her ears seem better, she's not pulling at them anymore.
