Auction Results
Frances' sold her lamb at auction on Sunday. She sold it for $672. Frances had located a potential buyer for her lamb but the private party wanted to send the lamb through the auction process. By sending it through auction, other buyers who wanted to bid could do so. In the end it came down to two final bidders, Nob Hill Foods, and the private party. The lamb sold for $5.25 per pound, which was outstanding as most of the lambs were selling between $4.00 and $4.25 per pound. Just as an example the Grand Champion Lamb at the fair sold for $6.00 per pound. She definately made a profit on the project, she has some expenses to pay, but my quick rough calculations indicate that she will net about 45%-50% in profit. Not bad at all for a first timer.
